Drive Time Increased dramatically

Post by CanyonMaster
Starting this morning my usual drive time from the suburbs of Philly into NJ increased dramatically by 50% then normal. At first I thought there was an event on the route, but all possible routes were increased by the same amount. I continued on the normal route and the arrival time slowly adjusted to the normally expected arrival time. Anyway...checking a drive for later this afternoon gave me the same type of situation although the drive time was close to double what it should be. Again...no events showing on the route.

Anybody have any thoughts, explanation for this anomaly?

Thanks!

Seeing the same thing here.

My usual long drive that Waze calculates at 282 miles and 4h 45m, is showing 9h 28m right now.

4h 50m on a shorter drive of 180 miles.

Shorter trips seem to be affected as my 18 mile trip my office shows 39m.

@Waze has been fielding tweets about these today, too. They should be well-aware.

I'm seeing URs of someone being routed on and off the Interstate multiple times (no ramp-ramp routing) on a highway that is working and hasn't been touched in months. Something has to be up with the servers...

I did not notice this on my commute in this morning. I did notice that waze was giving detours to avoid traffic that I haven't seen in awhile.

However, if I ask for routes home now, the times given are as you say dramatically more than the times that waze typically gives during my evening commute - 1 1/2 to 2 hrs rather than the typical 1 hr to 1 1/2 hrs (and its not rush hour now). I don't have any explanation.

Hmm, yep I'm seeing the same thing for longer trips as well. If I ask for a route to my parents which is normally about a two hour trip, waze is now saying 124 miles / 4 hours and 15 minutes.

Is this just a US Mid Altantic (at this point MD/PA/NJ) issue or is anyone else seeing this as well.

The tile reversion seems to have fixed this. All the examples I noted above are now back to reasonable time estimates. Hope they can get the recent edits back in soon without this problem.

I just ran a route I am extremely familiar with, Ypsilanti, MI to Fairborn, OH. The distance is correct around 210 miles with variation due to routing. However the estimated time is 5 hours 22 minutes avoiding downtown Toledo and 9 hours 42 minutes going through downtown Toledo.
