Agreed! I listen to music on Grooveshark through my ear buds and it literally scares the crap out of me when "hazard reported ahead" yells out. Unfortunately the volume toggle controls both types of media so no way to fix it. I am still searching the forums to see what, if anything, is being done about this. But mute should mean just that, no sound whatsoever!
