Pothole Tracker !!!

Post by jc18507
Please eliminate the expiration of Pothole reports until someone reports them as fixed. Maybe with a toggle to show/hide potholes. Expiring pothole reports in the default 24?hrs is useless. Some are huge and pose a serious hazard in the northeast and cause serious vehicle damage. This is an area where Waze can be extremely useful. I was very disappointed to see my pothole reports disappear by the next day. Please repost this comment in support of this much needed change, tx, Joe

I'm afraid that the only solution for this at the moment is to have an external tool gather all these notifications and store them in a separate database. If people don't upvote a report in the app every x hours, Waze assumes the issue has been resolved. But that's an app issue, not a website issue.

Just to be clear: I don't work for Waze (or at least I'm not getting paid to), so there's nothing I can do about it. I'm not against the idea as potholes tend not to disappear as quickly as traffic, stopped vehicles, accidents or police. But for such suggestions, you're better off posting in the Waze App Feature Requests forum. This is the forum used for the website.

Can't you simply change the expiration period for pothole reports from 24hrs to 1 week?

If this simple modification was added, I would use Waze for local driving every time I got in my car, it would be that useful. I really hope you consider this if at all possible. If you live in the Northeast USA you would appreciate what I am talking about. Thanks, Joe

Hi...not familiar with "staff working on anything" related to this but they are set to a limited time right now based on the desire of the product manager. I'll be speaking with her in-person here in just an hour or so and I will inquire about this request.

Get in touch with your local community and discuss this. It is possible to adjust timeouts per country for all alert types, including potholes.

Waze staff is working on this... coming soon.

Btw you're in the wrong forum, because this is not a website issue.
