I got a speeding ticket - yeah - I was speeding. But no way in hell i was going as fast as the officer says i was. I was running waze at the time. It seems to me that if i had the raw data from the trip that I might be able to use it in court. I there a way to get that data? I have tried loading the segment into the map editor and it just sit at "loading" forever......

I would sure like to be able to download all my trip data at one time.
The data is clearly there. Need someone to write an add-on script that will access it and put it into a CSV or other format for import into excel, etc.

Hi Graham,

Even if you do manage to get the data, do you think the police officer would not have his own data to back his claim? Think!

Chris

The police officer made a mistake. They were running a speed trap from aircraft and at the point in time that I was ticketed I was already alerted by waze that there was a speed trap in the area, so I was watching my speed very closely and i was going about 65 in a 55. Meanwhile a car that is almost identical to mine passed me on the right at a high rate of speed. I got a ticket for going 87.

I'm probably screwed - but I'm looking for the data anyway - I think it exists(?)..

Yeah - going 65 in a 55 in this particular spot is really unpopular - it clogs up the highway. The Colorado State Patrol could pull over everyone who drives this stretch of highway, and they do so on a regular basis. Going 10 over is widely considered acceptable. You gotta admit, getting a ticket for 87 while driving 65 is kind of annoying - particularly when it's a $300+ fine - particularly when it's clear what happened - they clocked the guy who passed me dangerously on the right in a similar car.

As far as notes that the officer has - they say that despite the fact that the other driver passed me on the right I was pulling away from him all the way down the stretch of highway in question. I think that leads to easy reasonable doubt as it would be impossible for me to be passed by someone i was "pulling away from" the entire stretch.

So anyway - rather than discuss the ethics of speeding, or the accuracy of the officer in question, I'm curious if anyone knows how to get their hands on the data?
