Feature Request - Police Hot Spots

I'd love to be able to tag areas where police sit and park but aren't always there. I'd call it a Hot Spot or something and it would warn drivers that (after enough reports in a similar area are submitted over time) that this area is a known Police Hot Spot for traps and to be cautious.

Say if 100 people report a police car at a certain spot, then an option becomes available (or perhaps automatic) that this area is a known police trap area and is reflected onscreen regardless of if someone has recently reported police parked there or not.

I like this idea, but more from the automatic perspective. Manually reporting would be more like the Trapster approach and might lead to too much clutter.

If Waze gets enough data from user reports and confirmations it could be a nice addition or at the very least a display option. Even going beyond police hotspot reports, Waze could take a similar approach with auto slowdown reports and moderate/heavy/standstill reports. If Waze is able to detect patterns based on location, day of the week and time of day, these kinds auto-caution alerts might just be possible.

Yes, that did get a bit too annoying with the "other app". Alert overload.

Another thought along this line (but one that would take more work on the back end) is to make these "hot spots" time related. For example, I know of one spot where, more often than not, there's a cruiser parked every Sunday morning. I don't see it there on other days. Perhaps some kind of timing could be added as well, to prevent the overload of reports.

The idea in its core is not bad, but effective realization is questionable.
I know several places where police is often in area I drive often, but if I don't know area well this would be fine to know from Waze.

Imagine if it would automatically evaluate history of police reports and hotspot alert will be only if there were more than 7 reports in the drive direction in past 10 days within 100 meters long area (taking in count that report time to live is 1 hour which is extended by thanks and also police might be reported for same "hotspot" place more than once per day)

I stopped using "another app" for that very reason. Could not drive 1/4 mile without hearing an alert that "police often hide here".

So annoying and "the boy who cried wolf" effect would have taken hold.

I think I'd rather stick to the "swarm mentality" and get live reports.
