GREAT conversation now - thanks for the info!

my only experience with it is on an iPhone 4s and iPhone 5 - both running iOS 6.x.

i have it set it 2D mode (cause i like to see what's around like an old fashion paper map).

and it has NEVER stuck for me! it will only stay for a few seconds then spin back around. drives me crazy.

Settings-->2D-->map-->tap once on screen-->tap north arrow

Here's my question, though. You don't want to see what's coming up further down the road?

I guess...each person does have his/her own preference.
