About new road recording

Post by skumar69
Look at the below area:
http://world.waze.com/cartouche/?zoom=6 ... FFFFFFTTTT

I live in this area and I see a number of small roads missing from the map, which I can help add to the system.

This area has severe traffic congestion problem, and so I believe that any new routes added to waze should eventually help people take alternative routes helping each other reduce and avoid traffic.

Problem is, I find that to record a new road, I must tell Waze client to start recording a new road. This is a BIG pain because as you may notice there are bits and pieces of missing roads here and there. While I am driving, if I drive on a new road, then Waze should automatically record it. Maybe as safety, later it may ask me to confirm that I recorded a new road so that it does not record any erroneous drive.

But really, at least Waze should ask/confirm if what I am driving needs to be recorded as a new road automatically.

I see it as a driving hazard otherwise where I need to check Waze client every 5 seconds to see if I am on a road, or need to enable recording a new road. If I know my way on the road, why should I keep glancing my phone every 5 seconds?

The problem is phone gps accuracy. It is hard to tell for sure when you are driving on a road, and the accuracy is just off, versus when you are driving on a new road.

This is why you have to manually turn the paving feature on.

You can always add new roads from cartouche by clicking on a driven segment.
