Login seems to be case sensitive

Post by dhegyi
Hi

When I log in to the site the user ID seems to be case sensitive. No biggie just a little annoying.

Regards

For waze, your email adress is not your login.

I can turn my auto-correct off under Settings > Language & Keyboard > Multi-touch Keyboard. I can also disable Auto-capitalization there.

Email addresses (and DNS hostnames) are case-insensitive. So, at least some webmail services (e.g., Gmail), and I would assume some services that use your email address as your login, are case-sensitive only with the password.

I know; my point was just that some commonly-used logins are not case-sensitive. And since many people do use their email username as a login on other servers, it isn't all that unreasonable an expectation.

I find the case sensitivity, combined with the "auto-correct" from hell of my Android to be very painful. My waze userid is Capitalized By Autocorrect, unlike my password, userids from 20+ years of Unix/Linux, email addresses, etc.

I assume it can't be changed. If it can be, I'd love to change it, at least on the web. And maybe in the Nexus S if I can figure out how to break the d&^% auto-correct.
