It has been requested to place a global (applies to all state page) notice at the top of the state pages about the new request from staff for info on HOV lane usage.

The notice would look something like this unless a different text is proposed.

Do you use HOV/HOT lanes?
Know anyone who does use HOV?
Want to help Waze better understand the issue & route better for HOV?
Please fill in this form after each HOV drive, and share this form with anyone (editor and non-editor alike) in the USA who uses HOV lanes, and have them submit their drive info directly following each HOV usage:

Any objections, modifications, support? Please reply below. While not every state does have HOV lanes, it is possible residents of any state may also drive through other states where HOVs do exist, and will now know about. The cost is low for the other states, and it will be much less work to put up a national notice than each state individually.

OK by me.

That is exactly why we integrated the notice portion of the state pages. We just didn't build a global all state notification into it.

If I'm. Not mistaken there is support built in for global all state notices displayed above the individual state notices, however there aren't any global notices in there.

Wasn't aware that Staff wanted this. Wish they had done this 2 yrs ago when we had HOVs mapped in AZ. There was UR after UR so we got rid of all but the ones that start/end at ramps.

Was this info passed out in the HO or forum?

Both, you can see the announcements from staff in the Forum link above.

I like this idea. I've already sent out a message on our state's Waze Facebook page.

HOWEVER, some SMs have posted on GHO that not all states have HOVs. Maybe it would be better to leave it as boilerplate language that states CAN post prominently on their wiki?

Even if they have no HOVs, their editors might sometimes drive in states which do have HOVs. So the notice is useful. As far as I know, PA has only 1 HOV lane, near Pittsburgh, but I know PA drivers often drive into nearby states which have HOV lanes.

The text is too long. Keep it to one line, two at most. Something like:

Ever drive in HOV lanes? Waze developers want your help! See here for more info.

Something I noticed today.

It appears that the template for RLC still indicates that you cannot add RLC's through WME. As this has now become an option, figured I'd drop a line for you template guru's to correct it.
