option #1 sounds best to me as well, as long as they are sepcifically enumerated. Of course the notes could explain to the SM how to adjust if they have varied guidance or replace the section entirely. For example I put a decent SL section in the NY wiki which I'd want to preserve most of.

I also agree with number 1 too. We have some varied guidance in CT that would be good to indicate them. Thanks Kent.

Once we enable the new SL section, I expect you could easily move your current SL content into that new SL optional section with no problem.

OK. With no other comments, I will go with the majority agreement on option 1. It will likely take me a few weeks to steal some time away from the book writing, but I think I can get it done with relative ease. I may try to do it late one night since I don't really have a sandbox for the active template.

Sorry for the necro-post (and a common speed limit section would have been nice :D). We have a request to add information about the passageway type into the template in the drivable roads section. Any thoughts on this addition? I'm not sure if it fits, since the bullet points there are not about Waze road types per se, but rather common real road situations. The road types page abundantly addresses the passageway type, but new editors often do map these, and it could be helpful to have the prohibition on the state pages.

As it's set up right now, if I follow the link in "non-driveable roads" I find a section that has no info on "passageway". I'd have to scroll way up to find it. As a new editor, I don't think I'd easily stumble on that.

The "Driveable Roads" list isn't exclusive to roads themselves, and links to some special situations involving road setups. I think adding "Passageway" there, or putting a note about Alleys and linking to Alley handling there wouldn't look out of place.

I'd support adding links to those types.

I don't recall if there are any state-to-state differences in either of those usages, so before we make a global change, can someone confirm if it is universal?

There are probably state-to-state differences in using PLR vs PR for Alleys.
Passageway not being used as a road type is US-universal though. KISS and just add a bullet that says: Passageway Road Type is not use in the US and link to the appropriate US WoP section that shows that?

What's the default language for WME on the first sign-in? Does that say Alley instead of Passageway? We might have to put both names on the bullet item.

Default language for new editors in the US is US English, so Passageway is the proper term to use.
