It may be that Google has more roads covered, but in general the Waze naming is far more accurate than Google's.
It's a pity that this part will not be retained.

Wow. This really is huge. On one hand, I feel so sad that all the hard work we put in is going to be lost. On the other hand, I know Indian base maps need a major overhaul so this does give me some level of joy.

I was wondering, will the roads be properly aligned this time? There was a major misalignment with the last map and a lot of time went into just aligning roads with GPS points.

If roads will be better aligned, that would make me very happy indeed.

Nowhere close to enough, man. There are just a handful of active users.

While you're replacing the base map (I presume from google) why not include POIs from Google as well; maybe even gas stations?

I had mentioned this in the forum a long time ago. Now it looks like a possibility.

And many Google POIs are inaccurate in India so this would be a good opportunity to not only merge all the POIs witg waze but also let us editors update them and make them more accurately located.

Just bad timing, buddy. It's good you're already helping drivers out and hope you keep doing so. And hope you do come back sometime and continue the work you started with waze.

Please try it out, we would love to hear any feedback you may have.

Thank you very much for your support, help and patience.

Thanks Ori. One of my biggest wishes of road alignment seem to have been granted. Woohoo!

However, I do have a few questions.

The city names, at least for new Delhi, is written in hindi script. I presume changing them to English or keeping them like this would be a call taken by Indian wazers, or is there a standard we need to follow?

I've noticed a lot of names of neighbourhoods appearing at the 200 mtr resolution. But I can't see the names when I zoom in or in the segment details. How can they be edited?
