Just to update that there is a patch correction for the Android version at http://tiny.cc/17215

Updates and fixes:

* Data compression switchable in Data usage settings
* Tile manager crash on connection timeout
* Alerts comments adjustments
* Input boxes fix - single (moving) line input
* Android altitude fix
* Day/Night fix for Android

I just installed it on my HTC Hero, as an upgrade from the market.

Initially it would not log in, but just opening the username dialogue and then closing it accepting the existing user name made it work again. Guess it rewrote the settings file in a new format, or something.

It just shows under the point "Data usage" if you edit the preferences file and enable some options like maps download I think...

I just tried a fresh install, but it doesn't change until I edit the preferences file... It's no big deal, however I really hope one of the next versions brings back 3D for my Milestone...

On my HTC Desire, I'm getting constant crashes when I'm recording new roads. If I leave waze running in the background, it records fine, but then when I click on the "return to waze" icon, the app crashes and automatically quits. Same thing happens if I leave waze running on the foreground while recording and start driving. After less than 5 minutes, the application self destructs...

Downloaded it and took it for a really short run earlier.

Couldn't find that "data compression" setting anywhere tough, but might be me that overlooked it some!

Any news when we android users will get FB connection, was hoping for it in this release

Neither I can find the data compression setting.

maybe if you uninstall waze first, you don't have to fiddle with the preferences file (enabled by default). I just upgraded, so it kept my old preferences file.
