Yes, I found it

After a day, 1.8.99.8 STILL won't load. I have tried everything, even restoring the phone and trying it while unjailbroken (is this even a word) and it still crashes after about 15-20 seconds on the splash screen. Grr...I wanna see what everyone else sees. 8GB iPhone 3G -- can't wait for the new phone to come out.

The preferences are still buggy, they just open every once in a while

Hmm weird.
I went from the official 1.8.0.1 straight to 1.8.99.8, and I had the problem with the preferences (multiple times, right after I installed it). I've used 1.8.99.8 for a couple of days now, and they open perfectly.

Maybe the bug wasn't really connected to a specific version, but more to the "switch" from the official release to the beta. I don't know… could it be related to the cache or pref file that needed to be updated to include the new options?

aaaaaand now I figured out how to replicate it!
it's something in the mood selection.

if you use waze normally, the preferences work perfectly.
if you open the mood selector (even if you don't change anything), they crash.

I tried multiple times, both in Italian and English (just to be sure it wasn't a problem with our language pack).

anyone tried out my moods+preferences bug?

Oh, btw, the 200miles limit is still there, I just tried setting a route to Rome (500km from me) and it gave me the same old error.

I've read something in the newsletter:
"Latest version (1.9.0) was submitted to the store on May 27."

I found the mood+prefs bug on May 26… has it already been fixed for the official release?

Wrapping up:
- the crown means you're an area manager, so that people in the area know who to scream at if they happen to find you on the road
- gold/silver/bronze are for the highest ranks between all users
- the profile error means that they need to renew the beta-tester profiles.
Obviously if you simply delete the custom profile you can keep using the official releases as everyone else, but to keep testing the new betas we'll need a new profile. Actually, this could be a good chance for the staff to get rid of a few old testers who don't help the project anymore, and free some spots for new people.
