yeap, it's hard to recommend this app to friends if the map has not been updated. I can see many new users around me who joined for few days and never see them again.
I believe waze is working hard on this issue. Don't lose heart :!:

I had a similar response from @waze

"@mattyb_71 We would love to. a lot of delays holding us back"

... again not much use, but a response none the less

Me too, I have held off getting into the map editing because of the imminent update in May, now we are at the end of June. When is this update happening?

Then we UK Wazers can really get into it. :)

I agree - the lack of information is somewhat frustrating.

Yeah - 2 months here - and some others have put in much more than me. I doubt that anything will be overwritten as such - it is more likely to be a validation and correction of whatever is there and then filling in (hopefully most of) the blanks. My understanding is that nothing will be changed unless it is obviously wrong and that new roads will appear dotted for validation.

Sorry for this delay, but we had a good intention to improve the UK grid upload process by incorporating it with the UK ordinance data which was released. We asked to get the data, told to wait 28 days for its arrival, but it never arrived. Twice. So now we'll revisit the issue and see when we can do it. I'll have to update as to when we can schedule it.

Having spent a full week creating most of my area from scratch I'll be rather annoyed if this does happen, enough to go back to TomTom and Google Maps on my device in frustration :)
