There is already one workaround in place, where “enforcement areas” are reported. Meaning areas in which cams have been reported but without exactly telling where the camera is.

Workaround for SpeedTrap Legality Issues

Postby uronlydreaming » Wed Apr 23, 2014 7:20 am

We get pretty creative here in the states when we feel our freedom is being taken away. And just now, I was reading about the problem with the Speedtrap Camera feature being illegal in some countries. So, instead of making it such a direct feature, can there not be creative legal workarounds such as instead of directly stating there's a camera present, just allow users to *suggest* that a certain location might be a good place to slow down for "safety reasons"....

Make it a user community slowdown suggestion somehow rather than a speedtrap camera alert. There could also be a settings page for any/all workaround features

1. Turn layer on/off
2. Filter number of suggestions so that people playing with the feature or abusing it can be filtered out.

Just my thoughts because I love freedom.

Best wishes,
