What is an Area Manager (AM) and what does it entail?
An Area Manager is a Waze community member (a Wazer like you and me) who wants to take a more proactive role in maintaining specific areas of the Waze map and be an active member that drives the Waze local community forward.
How deeply involved and how much time an Area Manager spends maintaining the Waze map varies greatly, given that we are after all, volunteers. However, there are some requirements to maintain to keep the Area Manager title and level.
Duties of an Area Manager includes but are not limited to:

@ the area you are interested in managing e.g. Central, North, East, etc.

How deeply involved and how much time an Area Manager spends maintaining the Waze map varies greatly, given that we are after all, volunteers. However, there are some requirements to maintain to keep the Area Manager title and level.
Duties of an Area Manager includes but are not limited to:
- - Continuously seeks to improve the Waze map for navigation, e.g. naming unnamed roads, setting turn restrictions when it changes in the real world, fix routing issues, etc;
- Update the map when road geometry needs to be revised or add and removed road segments from the map when necessary;
- Edit roadworks or construction areas, especially for closures so that users will not be routed to those roads (Time Restrictions);
- Respond to and act on Update Requests (URs) and Places Updates (PUs) on WME from Wazers who submit them and based on guidelines set out in the Waze Singapore Map Editing Guide;
- Maintain speed and red-light cameras - processing such reports from Wazers;
- Process and resolve automated Map Errors or Problems as shown on that layer in the Waze Map Editor;
- Be a mentor to other editors, offering advice in the forums and Facebook and when you see improper edits on the map;
- Be active on WME and the Waze Singapore FB group. AM privileges may be revoked after 90 days of inactivity.
Basic requirements to apply for Area Manager in Singapore
- + Have at least 10,000 map edits in WME (you will be evaluated based on quality of your edits and not solely the quantity);
+ Resolved at least 100 Update Requests;
+ Driven at least 1,000km with Waze;
+ Have been an active member in the Waze Singapore FB group and the Waze Singapore Forum for at least 3 months.
