The reason why it's set to Private Road most probably due to Google Street View (GSV) showing that road is a gated and guarded road (which is a requirement to set a road segment to Private Road).

If actual road segment is different, please provide the photo showing that it's no longer a gated and guarded road.

Btw, I will notify the editor who locked it for his reference.

Btw, if all road segments leading to that USJ5 entrance are guarded, it should be set to Private Road. It's set to Private Road on the basis that when it's gated and guarded, only Residents able to access the area. This will prevent routing thru it (which means destination is not inside the area). Waze will still route thru the Private Road if your destination is inside the area (although all entrance already set as Private Road).

I presume you are familiar with the area, so please help to identify which road segments should be set as Private Road in the area.

Mr beliamuda, this entrance to Taman USJ5 is indeed guarded and gated, as is the two other entrances to this taman however those two other entrances are marked public road and not private, thus causing irregular and poor routing by the Waze app on mobile device. It will be strange and inconsistent if all three entrances are "private" road however only one is marked private?

Mr PakcikSyah I had sincerely looked through viewtopic.php?t=46319 but did not find "Malaysia" there so I posted here instead. Please advise if I should ask a moderator for help to move this topic into the Malaysia forum?

Please advise what is the guideline for public taman areas being patrolled by rukun tetanga at the entrances, is this private road? If so, for instance in USJ5 where all three entrances are guarded, should all three be made private road, and after this change how will the Waze app route all users into this taman?

Thanks for your explanation. Currently, because this segment (the most convenient route path) has been set to private road, waze is routing all traffic into this taman through the other roads first, failing which it will then route a path through this private road, this behaviour is very weird to me.

I will post a repeat of this topic in the Malaysia subforum and request that the other entrance be set to private road.

I had this section previously changed from private to public road, and now it has been changed back to private and locked. The person who did this edit kindly explain why this change has been made and locked. Obviously this is not the case, and if necessary I will provide photos and proof that this is a public road.

Waze have a dedicated country forum for Malaysia. Use the country forum. Posting to other forum may be overlook or ignore.
