Take a look at this:
"New York State Route 100 (NY 100) is a major north–south state highway in Westchester County, New York, in the United States. It begins parallel to Interstate 87 (I-87) at a junction with the Cross County Parkway in the city of Yonkers and runs through most of the length of the county via the city of White Plains up to U.S. Route 202 (US 202) in the town of Somers just south of the county line with Putnam County. NY 100 was designated as part of the 1930 renumbering of state highways in New York. Prior to becoming a state road, various sections of NY 100 were part of several important early roads in the county."

Just to clarify;
If there is a road name for a CR-656 such as "Smith St", it should be just "Smith St" and CR-656 can put as an alternative name.

Is this also true for the State routes? such as State Rte 35?
Can this be named as "State Rte 35" and the other name would be put in as alternative name?

Thanks

Here's a request, when you enter on the map or on the Android App:
405 Amsterdam Avenue New York, NY you are sent to 116th Street at Amsterdam. Right around where 1130 Amsterdam Avenue is. Try it right now. The map's street numbers are correct but for some reason that's where you're sent when you put the address in. Should be more like Amsterdam around 79th Street. I submitted a correction request but was told not enough information.

Thanks, Paul

In New Jersey, people often call any road with a shield-style marker by just its number, since we don't really have any overlap between Interstate, US, state, and county routes. So US-1 is refered to as just 1. State Rtes 27 or 35 are just called 27 or 35 - like we'll actually say "Take 35 to the Neptune Circle..." The only exceptions that I know of are the county routes in Bergen and Monmouth Counties, both of which have not migrated their county route networks to the state standard of using numbers 600 and up, but most people in those 2 counties don't really know or refer to those roads by their county route number anyway.

To avoid such potential overlaps, when a new federal route is commissioned, the state has always recommissioned any other state route with the same number to another number to alleviate any possible confusion.

New Jersey also no longer uses letter suffixes on spur, loop, or other alternate routes, instead opting for word-based modifiers like "Alt" or "Bus" or "Spur". However, since US-9W is a federal highway, its name has to conform to federal standards, which do sometimes use letter suffixes to mark loop routes, I guess based on whether the local area does that. Since US-9W is located mostly in New York, which is notorious in its use of letter suffixes, we're stuck with it as well in the 10 miles of it that we have in NJ.

I think words in all-caps like this are automatically read out as their letters, i.e. arr eff kay, so the dots in between are not necessary, IMHO. This would also make the phrase shorter and allow more text to be displayed in the "next-turn banner" of the client, which is particularly valuable in the upright "portrait" mode.

The only caveat here seems to be the letters used to indicate your cardinal directions (E, N, S, and W). On more than one occassion has the Waze client read "NY Thruway" as "north why thruway." Not sure if that's a bug or there's just a different way acronyms with those letters need to be entered, but I just thought I'd point it out.

BTW, kudos to anyone brave enough to take on New York City. I drove out to Queens the other day and the map around Brooklyn and western Queens looked like there was all kinds of work to be done. Keep up the good work!

My guess would be that letter-by-letter pronunciation of words in all-caps is something that was recently implemented by Waze, much like the SR and CR acronyms for state routes and county roads. The F D R with spaces was probably an older edit before this functionality existed.

160) Connect parking lot segment and allow turns (along with some turns within the parking lot as well):

FIXED
161) Can anyone figure out what the UR is for? I think the directions told him to make a right on the service road. I'm not sure why:
https://www.waze.com/editor/?zoom=5&lat ... TTTTTTTTFT
ME NEITHER. I corrected a few reverse connectivity issues but the Waze route was not long enough to figure this out.
162) When you drive down to this segment, you really need to tell the driver to bear left or right (local/express). This segment should be a ramp with "to I-95 S Local" as the name. I've gone down here a few times, and it really needs to be done. Adjust angle or ramps to make sure it is a keep left/right.

163) I got lost here yesterday because the segment should be a ramp letting the driver know to bear left or right. Granted the other one is a 'Exit', but my directions had a left turn slightly after the right, so I was a bit confused. Adjust angle or ramps to make sure it is a keep left/right.

164) Update segment name from "R.F.K." to "RFK":

https://www.waze.com/editor/?zoom=7&lat ... s=69840137
I will leave the last three to people more intimately familiar with the area.
