There have been a lot of regressive changes to the M8/M74/M77 interchange in Glasgow in the past month. I think they have been edited by someone without understanding the recent changes to the road system that aren't clearly reflected on most other maps or in the satellite imagery. Luckily Google Street View has been updated as of the summer of 2012 to provide us access to the latest accurate road signage currently being displayed, which the Waze navigation should be consistent with. I've used this information help correct the unlocked road segments but I can't modify the locked ones, some of which has been incorrect/incomplete for sometime, which hasn't helped the situation. These are:

1) This segment is actually the M74 - it's the segment after M74 (S) J1, therefore must be the M74 by definition. It should be a Freeway, not Ramp, type, with the label of just simply M74 (S):

2) Likewise, the M74 started earlier, prior to J1, and is also both mislabelled and given the wrong type of a ramp, when it is part of the actual motorway - this has resulted in several map problem reports by users asking "is the M74 missing?!". This segment should also be a Freeway, not Ramp, type, with the label of just simply M74 (S):

3) This segment is missing an important label. It should be:

M77 (N) Exit to M74 (S)

4) This segment should be labelled simply:

M8 (W)

It's slightly confusing because the M8 (W) is actually two parallel roads at this point that merge at the end of this segment, which was originally the M74 (N). The evidence of this again comes from Google Street View images of the overhead road signage (May 2012):

5) That Google Street View image, also provides evidence that this segment is mislabelled, it is actually J22 and not J21:

6) As a final piece of tidying up. This ramp segment needs the label:

Its geometry is also slightly wrong, it runs parallel and closer to the other under-fly-over road, and merges into the terminating ramp much earlier (at the point where another ramp merges) than it currently does.

Bear in mind that most of this junction was drawn prior to the M74 extension actually opening and certainly before any of the other maps had it let alone aerials! Some tidying up was always going to be required!

Need to think about this one, the geometry doesn't really matter but I'm not a fan of the "M8(W) (M77)" naming. It's technically the M8 at that stage. The M77 is only in brackets as it's a connected route from the M8. Current guidelines are not to add those examples (of which there are many!)

This part confuses me a little. The M74 suddenly becomes the M8?!

Yea, I could see a lot of these problems were due to it being out-of-date, but someone this month had made a partial attempt at fixing them, but had actually made things worse in some respects.

That's acceptable by me; the fact you've fixed the labelling correctly should mean that navigation looks good and people won't get confused about the "missing M74".

I understand - I'd be happy with the motorway segment there just simply being named M8 (W) for consistency with later segments. The problem with this ramp is that it doesn't have a junction number. The previous ramp entry point is M8 (W) J21 (and says so on the street-level signage) and the following exit point is J22. Looking at the street-level signage (again in the last Google Street View imagery) for all of the entry points into this ramp (from Seaward St & from M74 (S)) there is no junction number given, just simply M8 (W) (M77), so I thought that would be the most clear piece of information for the Waze navigation i.e. be consistent with what drivers will see on the street signs.

Hey, nobody ever said this was a simple interchange. The actual motorway design is a mess of history. See this Google Street View image of the signage for the on-ramp where the M74 becomes the M8:

The M74 just becomes the M8 - whilst running parallel to the original M8. I think the best thing we can do is label the streets as the street-level signage does, so as not to confuse the navigation for drivers.
