Unlock Request For Southeast Michigan

Im posting a few unlock request in this one post for Michigan. The roads in these permalinks are almost all level 5 locked and need to be unlocked to be edited because some of the directions are wrong. Below are the permalinks. Please unlock these segments so other users can edit these roads to. P.S. Sorry for so many of them but I didnt want to have to make a bunch of extra post in the unlock forum just for these areas when I could post it all once.

Also on I-94 east before and after I-275 there's two parts of the eastbound lanes of the highway going on to the westbound side of the highway. It's labeled I-94 construction zone. Those two parts of road are no longer there. Please unlock these roads so they can be removed from the map. Thank you and have a wonderful day and be safe out there guys. :-)

A couple of things...
1) As GizomGuy said above, NONE of your permalinks have segments selected.
2) All your permalinks are quite wide (zoomed far out).
3) There are some locks in those wide areas, but in some of them nearly every segment in those areas has been last edited by you.

Because of the previously mentioned issue in the area, for unlocks you will need to directly contact the user who locked the segment(s) in question, as well as state the reason for the unlock request. Make sure to have the segment(s) selected when you create your permalinks, and be sure to be zoomed in tightly on the segment(s) in question.

If I posted them all zoomed in with each individual road selected there would be about 150 permalinks on here I think. :-) Anyway I hope you guys can check all the roads in those areas for me and unlock all the locked ones. Thanks
Because of the previously mentioned issues in the area, you're going to have to contact the users who locked each individual segment directly (if there are several segments of "Any Street" that are locked, you can group them into one request/permalink) with permalinks and the reason(s) for your request.

Typically mass unlocks are not done at all, and we are not doing unlocks in the Southeast Michigan area through the forum at this time.

Transporter1983 wrote:I have contacted all three of the users who have locked roads in these segments and one replied telling me he couldn't unlock anything at this time because of a past user and because an investigation was going on for those areas I guess. Is this why you said your not doing any unlocking in southeast Michigan at this time?
Yes, that is the "issue" GizomGuy and I were referring to.

I'm sorry, but the links you provided did not include any highlighted segments.

Please read the instruction post on how to submit an Unlock Request, as it explains how to include the segments in your Permalink.

Keep two tabs open on your browser, and then you can use your post to select your original Permalinks, as a reference to create the new ones.

A word of caution however. There seems to be an issue in the area that forced many segments to be recently locked at a Level 5.

So rather than post the entire list here in the forum, you should first make the request directly to the user who locked them at a Level 5. From the editor (WME), look in the left panel for their name, and then compose a Private Message to them from the forum.

Hope that helps.

Just a educated guess, here, but I expect that this issue will not be addressed until late February or early March, as many other issues are also being addressed.

The Waze team has less than 100 employees who are handling everything for entire works for everything from programming for the servers, the client apps, the web based map interfaces including the editor, the mobile interfaces, and the forums, plus marketing, administration, security and others that are mentioned here: https://www.waze.com/about/team/

So even with the assistance of all the Wazers, editors and Waze Champs around the world, the Waze team has business plans and procedures that that they must follow as a company. The issues in Michigan are just one in many that they must consider, and make decisions on that take time.

While many of us are impatient to see the changes we would like, especially with the editor and the way the client apps work, we have to respect their decisions on how and when they handle things.

We can read all over the various topics in the forums to see only some of the issues they face. The issues in Michigan are somewhat similar to those elsewhere in the world that are also discussed in the forums. Decisions about Michigan may or may not be related to how they decide to handle similar issues elsewhere. Curious as it may seem, we may have to wait for a decision to be made in Afghanistan for example, before one can be made for Michigan.

Mapping the world is a huge undertaking. Just look what happened to Apple when they thought their maps were ready for primetime! Waze is only a small fraction of the size of Apple, and they are doing their best to provide an incredibly useful and free resource for the world to use.

Oh ok. I had no idea that was why they were locked at level 5. Pretty much almost all the roads in those permalinks are locked at level 5.

Hello AndyPoms, I had posted the permalinks that way so you guys could look at all the roads to unlock the locked ones.
