Monroe, VA smudge https://www.waze.com/editor/#?%23%3F=&z ... 8,51665887

I'm not sure what the proper city here should be; most roads around here are no city so I guess just setting these segments to no city would be sufficient.

set to no name as requested. I also cleaned up a few problems around the area but there are plenty more around there including several 'red roads' that need to be named or to have the 'no city, no street name' boxes checked.

I see what you mean. Quite a mess.

Quickest solution may be to delete the segment and recreate it.

Yeah I've been working on a huge "no city, MD" smudge. I suspect that I'll run out of edit area long before I get all the segments though.

I can't tell for certain, but I think the north bound ramp still has Maryland as an alternate name.

Then I'm at a loss on how to explain this:

Myself and several others have been working on the Maryland in Virginia problem for a while. There used to be a huge number of roads erroneously labelled Maryland. It's getting much better now but there are still some areas where it's present. If you find any in areas that you can't edit post a link and I'll take care of them.

I've also been chasing the Monroe smudge for a while. I just cleared the several roads that pinned the corners of the current smudge. One of them was a little spur off a back road that was only 6 meters long. It wasn't even visible except at the highest couple zoom levels.

None of the ramps had MD as the state, but a parking lot road a mile or so south along RT1 was in the wrong state and a couple cul-de-sac loops a bit west were MD as well. I took care of them.

Highlight tool shows dashed lines for city highlight when the city is in the alternate name of the segment. I deleted the alternate name from that ramp and the dashed highlight goes away.

However, we can't edit the state field of the alternate name. I assume that this is inherited from the state field that we can edit.

I suspect that happened because the alternate name was added when the state field was set to MD. The alternate name inherited MD as the state. When the state field was corrected to VA the change probably didn't propagate down to the alternate name. Then we get this situation. Pure speculation on my part but plausible.
