SR-502 99%

The only part missing is here. Which is LVL 4 and I'm a lowly 3...

SR-503 - I think is closer to 60% now. The rest is out of my area or LVL4

Has there been any discussion on if WAZE plans to implement school zones in the speed limit setup?

As far as I know they don't plan on making any time based speed limits, nor do they plan to have time based speed cameras for school zones either.

That's sad... Especially considering they already have time based restrictions. It seems like that would be the natural progression.

But how would you program it for non school days? There are the obvious days, like statewide in service days and holidays, but each district typically has their own schedule of days off outside of those.[/quote]

It could be something as simple as a hazard warning... "Caution... 20 MPH School Zone Ahead". It is then up to the driver to read the road signs to be aware of the conditions.

I've gone through this thread and lowered lock level on any segment near any of the permalinks posted here. I've also made sure that I-5 Seattle south to Oregon is done, I-405, I-90, I-205, WA-500, WA-14, US-395. There still may be some gaps.

Remember that we need to set speeds also just based on road type as that is what Waze is using to compile the %'s.

Speed Limits, Interstates, US Hwys, SRs

Postby dude463 » Mon Jan 18, 2016 9:11 pm

Priority for adding speed limits are Interstates> US Highways> major SRs (520, 99, 18, freeways, etc...)> minor SRs (161, 7, 10)> Primary Streets> everything else
This is where you can post how much of a route that has speed limits set. I will update this first post to keep things current to anyone opening it.
To find the speed limits for any State controlled road (vs city or county controlled) go to this link http://wsdot.maps.arcgis.com/home/webma ... Existing=1
When it opens expand the Roadway Characteristics section and uncheck all but the Speed limits layer.
To verify where a route begins and ends there's a PDF which lists every single SR to Interstate in the state, begining and ending points. It's a pretty dry read though.
http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/mapsdata/roadwa ... tewide.pdf
Example: US-2 is listed as SR-2 and it starts at page 111. In the Description column it says "SR 5/EVERETT TO IDAHO" so I know that it starts at I-5 in Everett and heads east to Idaho. When I get to I-90 near Spokane I know that it's not done yet and I've gotta pick it up at Division St in Spokane and keep adding speed limits until I hit the Idaho border.
Every route controlled by the state is called an SR in this document. So I-90 = SR 90, I-82 = SR 82, etc...
When placing a percentage you think is done your best guess is certainly close enough.
With that said I'll start this off:
