I have additionally found construction project status reports by region that are produced on a weekly basis. I have not found GOOD way of finding these reports other than typing in "tdot weekly" in the search box on the tn.gov website and browse through the results. If there are major new highways being constructed, it MAY be advantageous to show the estimated road completion date given in the weekly report.

Also, the Tennessee Smartmap has smaller projects not on that part of the site that Weezer put up, and also retains most of the projects listed on that site. The text tends to be from the latest weekly update, so the project page should have more information.
