Random L1(AUTO) unlocks

Post by jdtech4u
While editing in areas in Western PA, I have found many random (AUTO)1 locks in the middle of mH, MH, and even some FW or ramps on occasion. I have noticed a lot of these were locked by very reputable editors as well as our SMs and CMs. The dates I have found look mostly during our MR. I was submitting these to Voludu in the past, but I thought maybe in order to develop a pattern, there should be a forum thread that all of us could post PL to as we find them so that they can be viewed by everyone. Maybe these should be left 'untouched' until the developers can inspect the segment history (if there is such a thing).

Doesn't look to be a PA editor; manages areas in Iran and Uruguay.

Just to be clear, I believe the system unlocked these segments. I don't know if any editor ever sets it clear to AUTO instead of just 1.

Auto is the recommendation for unlocked segments in our region. The reason for that is "just in case the US ever becomes interested in implementing traffic locks" https://wiki.waze.com/wiki/Pennsylvania ... g_Standard

I don't think anyone else has been watching some of these segments as closely as you have.
* Your hypothesis, based on your observations, is that the system unlocked these segments
* I think other editors are under the impression that we have set these locks ourselves, and lost track of the right time to uplock, or just made a mistake somehow.

The only way to prove that values change when nobody has edited is to take some photographic evidence. This is not going to be easy unless it is happening a lot.
* Take a screenshot of a highlighted segment, showing its lock level and updated date, and note the date when the screenshot was taken (should be AFTER the updated date to be clear nothing was changed later onthe same day)
* On a later date, after something has changed without the intervention of any editors, take another screenshot showing the unchanged updated date and the changed value(s).

This is not going to be easy, but if you catch even one example where this has happened, you'll have proof.
