Lewisville, TX: Ongoing Construction on SB Garden Ridge Blvd

Post by tkspencer
There is ongoing construction on southbound Garden Ridge Blvd. (Edit: Original post had wrong street name) in Lewisville, TX between the I-35E SB Frontage Rd. and Brazos Blvd. (IDs 68250294, 68250293, 46200544, 70679583, 46155734, 46169373, 46193077, 46150456, 46185562, 46189101, and 67048298) that has frequently gone unreported, and that I cannot report because I am using Waze with Android Auto, which doesn't support reporting construction via Google Assistant. I have tried to edit the map to indicate construction on this stretch of road, but the stretch is locked to Level 3 editors and I am a lowly Level 1 editor. Could someone who is a Level 3 or above editor add that this section is under construction so drivers are notified? P.S., this is unrelated, but is there any way to change my randomly generated username to something more personable?

Construction warnings are generally added via the app, there is no way for an editor to add the construction warnings via the map editor. I believe that only a few people have the ability to add via a special tool.
I will get with our region coordinator and see if he can add the warning. The easiest way would be to report via the app when you approach the area, but you would have to be disconnected from Android Auto/Google Assistant I suppose.

I got our partner with the City of Lewisville to add the construction warning. It should be active now.

I am not sure what knowledge he may have as to length of construction but he lives in the area, so I am sure he will keep an eye out. If you drive through and notice the warnings after the construction is complete, feel free to let us know.

I use iOS, but I'm sure the process is similar.
  1. Launch your Waze app on your mobile device
  2. Get into your settings. On iOS I do this by clicking the search in the lower left, then the gear in the upper left
  3. Scroll down to the "Account" section, and open "Account & login"
  4. Near the top, select "Username"
  5. Type in a new username and make sure it's available, then click save
I hope this helps!

Thank you very much. I can confirm that the construction warnings are present now where they should be. I wish I could have sent you an article on the construction project and tell you how long this is supposed to be going on, but I didn't find out about this by a news article, I found out about it while driving, and couldn't find an article while searching for it. But I suppose since you got the City of Lewisville to add the construction warnings, they probably know when the project will be done and the construction warnings should be lifted.
