From Beach to Bay Bridge

Post by CBenson
As discussed here and here waze does not route well from the MD/DE beaches across the Eastern Shore to the Bay Bridge. As noted in the first link bgodette cleaned up the trip to beaches, but the return trips still needs work. Anyone have editing rights across the Eastern Shore and some time to work on making the return trip work?

Well, as seen from link to the live map waze thinks the fastest route from Rehoboth Beach to points south of the Bay Bridge on western side of the Chesapeake is to go north around the head of the Bay. No one seems to believe that this the fastest route. So anything that would encourage waze to route straight west across the Eastern Shore would be helpful. Seems to me that checking westbound MD-404 would be most helpful. I believe that bgodette got the eastbound route to work by eliminating extraneous nodes and soft turn restrictions. So the most attention is likely required where the westbound and eastbound routes are split.

Haven't seen any recent complaints, but I don't get over there myself much so have no first hand experience.

After the most recent map update this does look much better. When clicking the livemap permalink in the OP it seems to use all the roads it didn't before.
