The state of speed limits in CT

Postby DrivingWithBill » Thu Sep 05, 2019 2:25 am

Greetings,
Recently we were having a discussion on speed limit implementation on discord. It sounds like the new standards are that we utilize the state list as a starting point but actual signage along the route would over rule the state listing. This make sense and appears to be in line with the rest of New England and national guidance, I was hoping to have some of the references to the older policies removed as what was explained by the state manager appears to conflict with what was posted here and added to the State Wazeopedia Page.

I havent seen much (or any response) I was going to give it a couple more days before updating the state wazeopedia page as there does not appear to be any objections

I am checking to see the status of the review by senior editors of the Connecticut Speed Limit Policy. I noticed there was a lengthy forum discussion on this topic a while ago. This could probably help the process and shed light onto the issues that may complicate the decision making process.

Just closing the loop:

Effective 10/9/19 the speed limit policy for CT has changed to the following:

1. Speed limits may be set utilizing any of the following resources: BOTG, CT OSTA documentation & SV
2. In the event of a discrepancy, the posted SL (BOTG) or SL UR determines the speed
3. If there is no BOTG verification available, the most recent OSTA documentation or SV info determines the speed
