I don't understand the system well enough to format a proper update request.

There's an intersection near my office where left turns are time-restricted. I looked at it in the map editor -- the only button available is "disallow all turns", and it's grayed out. I don't know what level is required to make that kind of change, or if it's even doable. Or how to put a link to the location in the post. I'm pretty sure my level is 1.

The intersection is Ridge Rd and Colonial Springs Rd, in Melville, NY. Left turns are banned between 6:30am and 9am.

Waze frequently routes me through there, because it's an obvious shortcut if you don't know how rush-hour backup from the adjacent traffic light makes the turn dangerous.

Please post a Permalink to the intersection in question.

Also, see Time Based Turn Restrictions in the Waze wiki. I think that you are selecting the junction node, you need to select the segment you are turning from - turns are a function of exiting a segment.

You don't have permission to edit the turns at Ridge & Colonial because Colonial is locked at a level 2. You can request and unlock in the US Unlock and Update Requests, but make sure you read the Posting Guidelines for that section first.

You aren't looking for an "add restrictions button", try this on the south end of Ridge Rd - select the segment, see the green arrows? good. Hover your mouse over them, see the little clock that shows up? Click on the CLOCK (not the arrow). Once you add a restriction the arrow turns from green to yellow - indicating the turn is allowed, but sometimes it isn't (or it isn't for certain vehicle types - which isn't fully supported yet).

For the Time Based Turn Restrictions (TBTRs), hover over the turn arrow until you see the clock. (https://wiki.waze.com/wiki/Map_Editor_I ... ion_Arrows) That page also has a lot of other good info too.

Thank you so much! Now I see exactly what has to be done, but it looks like I don't have rights (I don't get an "add restrictions" button). Now I just need to know the required editor level and I can write the request properly.

When I click on the clock, I get the "Time based restrictions" panel -- the wiki shows an "Add restrictions" button on that panel. But I don't see the button, because it's locked above my level. It all makes sense now, and I think I have everything I need to write an Unlock request according to the guidelines.

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction!
