Best practice question - Gas stations
I saw an explanation about naming gas stations based on their signage in another forum on here (it may have been Connecticut's; I don't remember now). I wanted to see what the consensus is for NC. For example, one gas station near me is called one thing, but that name isn't on any signage. If you were looking for it, it would be easier to find by naming it Citgo. The imported name of the gas station is the real name in this case. And then across the street at another gas station, the imported name is Gas Town with a number next to it (I guess that's a group of stations owned by one main company or something?), but the station has another real name and in this case the real name is on the signage.
In both cases, I think the imported name should be changed to what you see on the signage. But what is considered the correct way for NC? And will changing the name have any effect on daily gas price imports?
