Outsourcing your job

Post by AlanOfTheBerg
Perfectly legal. Everyone gets something out of the deal. As someone comments, it's called "subcontracting" and businesses and people do it every day.

I say, 'Bravo!'

Yeah, if your company calls in Verizon's security team because they can't figure out why someone from China has access to their network, you're unlikely to be on the perfectly legal side of things.

It probably violates his employment contract with respect to security, trade secrets, non-disclosure etc. to provide access to a non-employee, not to mention a foreign national. Speaking of which, if the company were developing (or maybe just incorporating) export-controlled technology, that could actually be a federal offense.

Now, HR departments around the world are reviewing their employment agreements and adding clauses that explicitly prohibit this practice. :-)

I say kudos to the guy. Not sure how he got away with it for as long as he did and at several companies as well:eek:
