The size of a Junction box cannot exceed 1 kilometer.

Is this a linear distance limit for one side, or corner-to-corner? Or is it an area limitation? ie 1 sq.km

I have revised the page to incorporate suggestions that I am aware of that were made in hangouts.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm not sure where this should go in the overall structure of the wiki. So if those that are managing the structure of the wiki have suggestions that would great.

I've updated the page. I've not included anything about naming or providing the address of the junction box because I don't know what we plan to do with those properties.

Kent do you want to work on the formatting? Ohad has reviewed the content. When this is approved we should update some related pages to refer to the junction box page like the glossary and the map editor interface page. Other places to consider would include the Junctions Style Guide, the turn-restriction page and the discussion of the U-turn penalty.

When junction boxes were released in the beta editor, I didn't realize that they would not yet effect routing. Given that beta editors can't yet solve routing issues by adding junction boxes, I would not expect many to be added yet. Thus, it now seems less imperative to get this page out to the entire editing corp. I am fine with us taking our time to make the page as clear and correct as possible.

Do we want to add a statement that junction boxes do not currently effect routing and finalize this page for publication? Or do we want to shelve publication until R5 beta editors actually can use junction boxes to solve routing issues?

I don't know. At this point all I know is that if I put a junction box around an entire interstate interchange an error is returned that says: "The size of the highlighted Junction box cannot exceed 1 kilometer." I guess we could do some tests and try to figure out what that means.
