Wiki Updates for Indiana Wazers & AM's

Post by enfcer74
Just wanted to let everyone know that I have updated http://www.waze.com/wiki/index.php/Indi ... _resources and also added http://www.waze.com/wiki/index.php/Indi ... d_Closures.

The road closure list/table is kinda rough looking, but I do not have the greatest grasp on wiki markup. So if someone wants to improve it, please feel free.

The mapping resources page I have added the state Functional class road pages, and also many of the county GIS pages.

I love this part:

On May 17th, 2012 Waze announced weekly map updates that would run each Sunday night (GMT) and would contain updates as of the previous Monday([1]). Please only include map changes that will be in place 24 hours a day for at least one week, and be sure to plan your Construction updates accordingly (i.e. 2 weeks in advance).

Weekly updates?
We had them for a few weeks back then... I just don't know what to change it to right now... And I'm pretty sure that only a few local AMs, who know about the delays, actually look at that page...

I have a list of gis maps in wisconsin like you do - I found a way to make multiple columns that takes up a lot less real estate if you would like to take a look at the markup. Not sure how it will work with the multiple levels in your list though. (I'm new at wiki editing too) if you can get it to work, it makes finding the county/city you want a little easier.

Also, on the closures list, possibly put in a permalink instead of just the lat & long?

I like the 4 rows of names and have added it, thanks for the idea. I was debating about permalinks or GPS, the GPS initially won, but I am starting to like the permalink idea. I also like the concept that AndyPoms does in CT, but instead of breaking it down by county/city I was thinking about dividing the state into regions and setting those closures that way.

It's a work in progress, but thanks to both of you for the ideas.

Ok...made some major changes to the Indiana Road Closure page, after doing some research on wikitables and markup. I think it takes the best of all ideas and current practices and combines them, but hey what do I know ...

You should probably strike out that other paragraph about map updates with this whole infrastructure thing going on

I assumed you were still open to table "improvements" so I cleaned up parts of the tables I could tell were still giving you trouble and then gave the headings a "wheat" color to match the Connecticut table. You are welcome to use any color you want (or remove it). You are looking at it much more than I will. ;)
