OK I'll start, based on previous discussion. Please feel free to add to and comment on this short list.
Requested NEW place categories
  • Hospital (on it's own without the associated "/ medical care")
  • Medical care / Doctors office / clinic
  • Emergency Room / Urgent Care
  • EMS (ambulance) station

For a while, I used [blank] for the Brand for stations that weren't in the list because then the Name field was used in place of the Brand in the app.

It seems that Places broke this — now, the [blank] Brand stations are blank in the app too.

Either that, or it was changed between 3.7.7 and 3.7.8, but that seems less likely.
I noticed this happened to a station near me during the landmark freezing period. I changed that one to unbranded for now. The name still shows up in the polygon.

I just wanted to mention this here before editing it in the wiki. There is a discrepancy between the wiki list and the actual categories in WME.

Sketch requested a change to have the GC Mentor names appear purple in the forums today, and that took five minutes. We may have good luck here with the label change. We should request as many changes in the next week as possible :) ...
Although keep in mind that it's probably much easier to change the name display color for a groups members in the forum. The developer team probably didn't have to be involved in that change. Nevertheless we can still hope and request[emoji1]

I think they are generally willing to respond, but the developer team is swamped.

I made the change so the wiki page now matches WME for Medical Care.

In theory o believe teaching a principle rather than a rule is far superior. But in practice ensuring that the principle is properly understood, both literally, and in the spirit behind it, is much harder without personally covering the message. It might work in the framework of mentoring, but I don't hold such high hopes for static text on a wiki somewhere most new editors won't read. Given the situation I think we need some hard rules, with the ability for higher tanning community members (RCs etc..) to allow exceptions based on the principle.

In that vein I would suggest enumerating the rules, AND the principles which led to them.

What happens when said building houses more than one store/office space?

Example: Large shopping mall, multi-story office building that houses private practice offices, coorporate sites, satellite company offices (MCSO)?

Waze will navigate to the segment closest to the marker. Meaning an office at the back of the building, may navigate to a street behind the mall which may or may not even have access to the mall. I've been routed onto a few residential streets behind the place I needed before because the point was closer to the street behind than the front, or there was no PLR.

Fredo-p wrote:So, should the points be placed as close to the main access road, spacing just enough for future editing?
it should be at our near the front door, ensuring it is closer to the road you drive on to drop someone off at that location, than to any other segment. typically that would be the street the entrance is on, or the PLR if applicable.
