It's not like there are so many other editors they would clutter the screen :o
Funny you would mention that. There is a thread in the forums about someone who took a screenshot of a crap ton of editors in one location. I swear it was around 15-20.

I was right 15 in one place. That's one hell of a cluster f*ck. "Who fixed this?"

If it is not caused by multiple instances of WME in my experience it is caused by changing countries while being in the chat without reloading the page.
The chat seems to not 'log you out properly' of one country, therefore your messages might still show up in the first country, when returning from the second country your messages are doubled in the first country.

Most of the time the reason will be several WME instances, of course.

I don't know how the chat rooms are organized in the US (is there one room per state or just one for the whole US?), but over here there are often cases, in my case between the rooms 'Germany' and 'Austria', where people's message double and the standard suggestion 'close all WME instances except one' doesn't help, because there are no multiple WME instances, but the problem persists.

What should be added as well, if the page is not only covering the US.

Room selection if there are several rooms available near your location:

I do not agree with the absolute Do Not offer advice outside your area. I have seen other low level editors help each other out with great success. But it usually starts out with this is how we do it here so please check your local rules.

To expand on my thought. I think there should be something like that in there just not the absolute "Do Not".

Sounds like good advice...

{EDIT: The thread from this point forward came from a separate thread that I started and forgot we already had a thread going on CHAT. I will update the Chat page I started to reflect the outline vectorspace already proposed.}

It has been identified that the Wiki has nothing on the WME Chat. It is unfortunate that Waze did not create anything for NanoRep either. :(

I propose we set up the page with the following sections:

Title = "Waze Map Editor/Chat"
  • Overview (w/ image of a chat screen)
  • Enabling chat mode
  • Etiquette in communications (dos and don'ts)
Not sure there is anything else to cover. I personally don't use the chat, so I am not in a good position to start the page, but I am happy to review the content once someone gets something up there.

LOL. I thought we started talking about it and I forgot to search for Chat in this forum. :oops:

I agree this thread should be merged with the other one. I think Vectorspace and others had a lot more data already defined. I will clip this thread onto the end of that one since it is time relative at least.
