The same happened on iOS when Apple changed permissions in iOS 8.3.

When Waze v4 was released for iOS the devs had allowed iTunes file-sharing giving us back the ability to easily do it without jailbreak, so don't give up hope!

Hi all,

I updated the DACH color scheme.

Changelog:
- slightly different colors for the traffic arrows to make the direction of the traffic better visible
- necessary changes due to changes by Waze

skin_structure.main.lua
https://files.fshare.at/index.php/s/Jeance5OEh2IlIk/download
skin_values.day.lua
https://files.fshare.at/index.php/s/WaBTD131382Li2F/download
skin_values.night.lua
https://files.fshare.at/index.php/s/nj6rLxA82yPvzjw/download

You can copy skin_values.day.lua to skin_values.low_contrasts.lua to have the same colors in the alternative routes screen and other mini maps, e.g. search results, search result detail view etc. Unfortunately there is no separate variant for night mode, but personally I don't mind the bright colors in the mini maps.

Have fun!

Any way to change the "dark blue/grey" color of the box where route instructions are given while driving?

I mean, the top box that in Google Maps is green and in Waze is dark blue/grey.

Are you serious?! I don't really want to jailbreak my Iphone, I was hoping there's a way we can just change the schema's using Ifunbox, like we could in the past, with out it being jailbroken.

I don't want to be left behind on IOS updates and such. I'm seriously starting to regret Iphone now.

The same applies but you need to be jailbroken.

By inspection, you can figure out what goes where. For example, my custom schema file has

# ROADS ###########
Freeways.Class: Road
Freeways.Stroke: #0066ff00
Freeways.Fill: #0066ff
Freeways.Declutter: 2147483647
Freeways.Thickness: 10
Freeways.Thinnest: 5
Freeways.Delta1: 0
Freeways.Shadow: #000000
Primary.Class: Road
Primary.Stroke: #00cc0000
Primary.Fill: #00cc00
Primary.Declutter: 2560
Primary.Thickness: 8
Primary.Thinnest: 4
Primary.Delta1: 0
Primary.Shadow: #000000

In the standard Waze LUA file it has

-- Roads ------------------------

freeways = rgb(0x99a28a),
primary = rgb(0xA7B7A9),
secondary = rgb(0xc4d4ca),
highways = rgb(0xbbc0ad),

So I can copy the colours across from my schema file to the LUA file

Like:

-- Roads ------------------------

freeways = rgb(0x0066ff),
primary = rgb(0x00cc00),

etc.

Some of the other features might be in the skin_structure.main.lua file if you can't find them in the values lua file

That's a really informative post but what about us IOS users :/

I am wishing I stayed android now.

Please, could someone post instructions on where to put the custom theme on a non-rooted android device for version 4.21.
I'm trying to replace the night theme of the default theme. Used to have a rooted device and I just replaced the skin_values.night.lua file. Now I can't do this anymore.
People keep posting links to that old wiki page (https://wiki.waze.com/wiki/Custom_color_schemes) that doesn't seem to be working anymore.

If you want to do your own colours with v4.21 (Android) Waze now uses the files skin_values.day.lua and skin_values.night.lua instead of 'schema' files.

See the filenames in my last posting 3 postings before.
You need to copy the .lua files into the directory, they are used to generate the color scheme.

Android = v5.0.1
Waze = 4.21
Old waze had a skins folder and the schema files were in default/day/12 and default/night
New waze still has a skins/default folder but no day or night folders and no files called schema.
But there are 4 files called schema_day schema_day_gray_scale schema_night schema_night_gray_scale
The contents of these the old schema so I overwrite them with my schema restart waze, switch scheme from default to map editors and back, even reboot the phone but waze still shows its schema :(
