Acknowledging Reports

Post by TWSchroeder
I have noticed this same inconsistency that I am about to describe, but not must understand a bit more in order to respond to a user update request.

When Waze warns of certain things such as a vehicle on the side of the road and/or a police officer ahead, sometimes I can acknowledge that it is there or not and other times Waze does not provide that option.

Is this caused by a bug, and if not, can someone explain the criteria to allow for the acknowledgement or not?

Thank you very much.

"Those" roads are nearly impassible and barely jackassable.

I think it says a lot about an editor to view how often they thank others.

I've noticed that after I've driven past a report, I can no longer select 'Not There', so it may be location based.

I only see the "Not There" button on Police, Hazard and Camera pop-ups. On other pop-ups like Accident I do not see the button. I also only see the "Not There" button if the warning spontaneously pop-ups, i.e. I can't tap on the hazard and say its not there. However, sometimes waze seems to fail to give a few of the pop-up warnings.

Don't do that. It could lead to the suppression of the camera on the map.

I too have noticed something similar. Only this was with the 100's of Potholes being reported. Some I can acknowledge, others I can not. I suspected those I can not were reported on the other side of the road. But we have so many so close together it's hard to tell what is what. Did you try to post this question in the App section of the Forum?

If there was an option to say 'ok' and get rid of a pop up of a speed camera or light camera, that would be great....i have just been saying 'not there' since that is the only option....
(I keep mine on true north since that is how my brain works and those pop ups get in the way of my travel frequently).
Does anyone know if this will change?

Unless the camera itself isn't present in reality, PLEASE don't tap the "not there" button, as this increases the likelihood of the camera being removed from the map. To simply get rid of the popup before it times out naturally, tap the x in the corner of the popup...

Thank you for the comment. Presuming that the app works consistently without bugs, I hope to hear from a knowledgeable editor that can direct us to the "rules" surrounding the hazards and warnings.

I think it says a lot about an editor to view how often they thank others.

It sometimes happens leading up to the hazard or police. The UR I am trying to solve definitely says it happens to them for Police.
