Go to favorites and swipe right over the work location. It should allow you the option to delete. I'm using an iPhone. Hope this helps!

I assume that you are riding a bicycle? If so, do you know that Waze is not currently designed to use when riding a bicycle and you are contributing bad data for the streets that you are riding on?
Please don't use Waze when bicycling.

Please don't offer suggestions of what do to in threads from 2012-2013. The people who asked back then used older versions of the app which did not work the same way as today.
In general please don't revive threads older than 6 months as per the forum's posting guideline.

What device do you have and what version of Waze? I have Waze 3 on an iPhone and I do not have a Work favorite set (I work from my house) and I don't see Work listed anywhere.

Correct, I do not see a Work option listed. Could be a new thing with 3.0 if you never upgraded from an earlier version.
Maybe add a Work location, then delete it and see what happens.
Glad to hear you aren't using it on your bike
