I’m having the same exact problem. Did anybody find a solution to this? It’s highly frustrating! Ugh!!!

Since previous versions of waze on Android. ETAs do not work, my friends send me the ETA but when I enter the notification, the time of arrival is not correct and your location is not shown on the map. The notifications also fail a lot, many times they don't arrive when I send them the ETA.

This can happen if she drove through an area without good network coverage.

I use that feature a lot and noticed that it works well only if you have a perfectly stable network connection from pressing share until you arrive.

When it shows you the destination it can be caused by or mean a few things:
- The person arrived
- Network connection was lost at some point, it doesn't always resume if the network is back
- The person put Waze in sleep mode or stopped navigation, for example to stop at a gas station (sharing doesn't resume automatically after those actions)
- The person manually changed their destination (the new destination is not automatically shared even if it's the same one)

I've never tried using the feature with these parameters myself, so I'm not sure, but it does sound like it could be the problem.

@Robin: I moved your new thread into this similar one. Maybe some of the things suggested here will help you figure out the problem.

I personally don't have a problem with seeing shared drives so it doesn't sound like a global issue/bug :/

I suggest you start by calming down.

Waze staff doesn't monitor this forum and we're all App users like you, we like to help out in the limited ways we can, but nobody enjoys talking to apparently furious people. Seriously, no one does and I've seen posts like yours go unanswered because of it.

When you're ready to "start over" I'm sure a lot of volunteers would love to help you as best as they can.
If you just want to rant to staff, this isn't the place and I suggest you then head here.

Unfortunately I'm unaware of any workaround if it doesn't work. I know that for some people it does, but it's hard to say why it doesn't for others.

Hopefully someone will have a solution someday, if messaging staff support doesn't get anything moving.

Regarding ETA sharing not displaying the other person's location/progress on a map anymore and only opening the destination with no other information, no matter what method is used..

I cannot promise anything but since feedback was slow about it in the beta channels and seeing the posts here, some Community Champs and I asked through other channels about it too, to see if we could speed things up a bit. For now all we got was:

In this particular case, unfortunately, I have reasons to doubt any relevant update will come soon, partly due to some staff being on vacation and the PR-friendly-canned response we got above, void of any explanation or details... but if/when we hear something new we'll keep you guys posted.

Staff feel your frustration over this and are fully aware of the on point feedback.

They want to assure you that improvements are on the way.
Their engineers are working on not only fixing the current experience but are also rethinking the whole interface on both sides (sender and receiver of ETA for instance) by improving and shortening the flow to share and by improving the "quick sharing" logic to be more accurate and customized.
