Thanks for posting about the shortcuts. I have been so annoyed the last two days trying to figure out a fix and haven't been able to resolve with the gps fix app, etc. Hopefully they get this bug fixed soon! !

and now it has started playing up again. Monday morning to work no issues. but on the way home it took over 5 mins to pick up any GPS signal. and today on the way to work the same issue. All other apps that us GPS have no issues.
Ok after updating to iOS12 it is working fine so that was about 2 days of no GPS.
I have delays on getting GPS signal, some days it comes with delays, ios12 did not help. Problem persists

Where is your phone when this happens? A windshield mount? On your lap? Tucked into the console somewhere?

Try installing this app - it's a GPS Status / Toolbox and will run under Waze. Got it from one of the other Champs at the US Meetup this year - it will help you determine if your phone has weak/no GPS reception & if the problem is Waze or your device. It will also reboot your GPS/aGPS systems if it detects an issue.

If you're not locked to a road, Waze can't recalculate - it can only tell you to get to a road, so it can recalculate. The problem is one of two things - Poor GPS Lock/GPS interference (i.e. the trees messing with the signal) or the roads in that area not mapped properly. Please post a Permalink so someone can look at the area in question.

I'll buy that. Here a permalink to an area where I've seen the problem thrice in two days.

Please zoom in and select the road(s) you were on before you create your permalink. That way we can look at specifics.

  1. What kind device do you have? (Make & Model)
  2. Read Item #35 of the Waze FAQ
Edit - your screenshot didn't load the first time I looked, so now I know you have an iPhone, but which one?

Poking around a bit... Have you given Waze permission to use Apple Location Services?
support.apple.com wrote:You must enable Location Services on your device and give your permission to each app or website before it can use your location data.
It looks like the setting is under Settings > Privacy > Location Services, but I'm an Android guy, so I'm going off of what I'm finding in the Apple Support Docs...
