What does «share the ETA» do ?

Hi,
I just wanted to know what exactly does «share the ETA» do ? Does it just send the time until the arrival or the exact position of the car all the way along ?

If it's being sent to a phone number that IS NOT registered with Waze, it will send a text message with a summary and a link to follow the drive. The position is only updated every few minutes.

If it's being sent to a phone number that IS registered with Waze, it will alert the user through the app where they can view the summary and follow the drive. Again, the position is only updated every few minutes.

Both should send notifications (text or in app) that the driver is about to arrive when they get close.
