Is this an established rule? Just a few stations in Hawaii has started to give cash discounts and I always thought credit was the correct price
No, you're correct. I looked at the Wiki entry on gas prices to be sure and it says to enter credit prices because that's what the "3rd Party" posts will be. So I stand (well, sit) corrected.

Like a lot of things on Waze, I think someone told me or it was written somewhere to post cash prices but that changed and they didn't notify anyone of the change. There are only a few stations around here that do different cash/credit pricing but I'll be sure to update the prices for credit from now on.

I get the popup asking if I want to add or edit fuel prices, but when I do that I dont get any boxes to fill in. Makes it sorta hard to edit fuel prices?

No - Ireland, Australia and (I think) New Zealand too. Maybe parts/most of Asia, but I'm less familiar with that part of the world.

I would like to propose a smaller number of points for just confirming prices already put in. I fear people will just confirm prices of every station they pass, for gaining points.

They're only worth 8 points anyway. Hardly an incentive to cheat.
I disagree. That person only has to hit confirm. The first person had to fill in the numbers, so did more work. It's not unfair that there'd be a difference in points.

There have been people chit chating 'hi' to the whole world, reporting speed cams every x meters on long stretches of roads, closing URs in large numbers. So yes, people do weird things for points. This will just be another way.

You and I know that those actions won't get you points, but others don't. People have been doing that and will. Other ways of 'cheating' have been used too, we all know that.

About reporting: I have a second phone I use as a voice recorder. I quickly speak in the prices I read from the big sign, and type them while driving.

Just hitting ok to confirm the prices is much easier than typing new wrong prices. And, blindly typing numbers will probably lead to very odd prices, clearly wrong.

There is a difference in the amount of work that goes into changing prices and just confirming. That's clear and could be translated in a difference in points.

Just wait for the first 'user x is confirming all the gas prices in my neighbourhood without actually checking them' thread. It'll come.

Come on Mapcat, I'm only signalling that the way the gas prices feature works now isn't very safe and reliable. I just want to make sure that the quality of that part of Waze's information is as high as possible, and I see room for improvement. I never said I'm concerned about people copying my information or whatsoever. Couldn't care less. Why did you feel it necessary to drag that in here, and even advice me to occupy myself with another part of Waze?

As for editing and driving inequalities, what's that got to do with this? I know it works that way. So, if one thing's bad in the world, next we accept all things to be bad?
