Hi all,

Been using Waze for about 3 weeks now, its great.

I thought it would be good to have a thread for the Pioneer App Radio users

It works great and i have to say that considering its the first version that has worked with app radio i've had no problems when using Waze, no crashing freezing etc...

However, what it doesn't do is:

Allow you to change track when music is playing in the background.
Allow you to change source. iPod, Radio etc.....

Features i would like to see:

Speed to be display on the iphone screen when plug in to the app radio, so no splash screen

If any other app radio user have any problems or features they would like to see, please add them below

Been using pioneer avh5550bt and waze on my iphone4s on ios6 and the latest appradio app.

Like someone posted, i cannot use my keyboard in inputing anything on my pioneer. makes it a bit useless to have to type and pretty much do majority of any interaction on your phone instead off the pioneer's 7 inch screen.

I hope waze fixes this, as the only input i can do is do the traffic reports, navigation which is its main purpose is useless because of the keyboard not working. you cannot even browse favorites or saved location and other settings.

before the latest appradio version, i could change music source and skip to next music while on waze by just pressing source and/or next track. after updating to the latest version of appradio i could no longer do this. Like someone mentioned, i need to go out of appradio and turn on music and go back in app radio/waze. too cumbersome to think they already made it simple on the previous version.

i hope waze improves the app for pioneer HU further. especially the keyboard input

Thank you for confirming this, I hadden't seen this info anywhere. My co-worker told me about this program, and I just bought an App Radio coincidentally (not thinking about Waze) But this is great to know. Thanks again

Not sure about how it's configured on AppRadio head units, but on units that have App Mode (like AVH-P8400BT) you need to set App Mixing on the System menu. That will enable the skip buttons.

Are any of you in the client beta group? The newest iPhone beta is supposed to have a fix for this.

You can change sources, you just have to do it on the phone. If the app is already running on the phone just double click the home button on the iPhone and change apps, or if the app is not running yet, click the home button once and pick the app you want to listen to, you can then double click the iPhone home button and switch back to Waze.

i have no issue changing source with my Pioneer AVH-8400bt using iPhone 4s (iOS 5.1.1). I can play music from any source and change songs on my iPod / increase / decrease volume.
