Waze on Blackberry Login Issue

Post by hmarian
Hello,

Since this morning I'm getting an error "RT: wrong login id" when I start the app on my Blackberry.
I tried to reset the maps, punch the username password again and even remove and reinstall the app and nothing help.

Any idea what is this error code about and how do I fix this?

Thanks,
Hagay.

I started getting the same thing today with the Windows Mobile client. My Android devices connect fine.

I asked Waze to check this thread and the WM thread in the Champs forum. Might take till Sunday before they react, because of the weekend...

Seems very likely that Waze may have done some infrastructure improvements which is causing the BlackBerry and/or pre version 3.x clients to no longer function properly.

Seems that you will need to find another navigation solution or migrate to an iPhone or Android device if you want to upgrade to Waze 3 and enjoy all of the new features and user interface.

Likely Symbian Wazers are having the same issue.

Since Waze had previously been very adamant than the legacy clients will continue to work it seems that Waze now either needs to state that this is no longer the case or they need to figure out what they changed recently and consider changing it back.

Nowhere have I seen any notification from Waze that the legacy clients will stop working as of a certain date.

So it seems very likely that Waze made a change this week, on the USA and Canada infrastructure that is causing this. The big question is whether they can revert or fix whatever change they made to re-enable the legacy Windows Mobile, BlackBerry, and Symbian clients to continue to work. If not, they should put out a statement that these legacy clients will no longer be able to use Waze vs. ignoring the issue.

This will likely be a bigger issue if/when Waze makes the same change on the ROTW infrastructure.

That's exactly what I have on my BlackBerry.
I opened a ticket with support. If they get back to me with a solution I'll post it here.

Hagay.
