If you are not routing when you hear the "pop", be sure to check your map, as you may need to detour a bit to get your candy. They may not be on your intended path. If you route to your destination, and follow that route, then the candies should be along your path without need to detour.

Wondered that myself. Any other Mega's with an answer?

I don't pay too much attention to how and why they work, and only recently noticed that they usually seem to hide when I am on an expressway. So I assume they are suppressed when you reach a certain speed.

I'm not 100% on this, haven't been using Waze very long, but the two *sounds* I hear that don't correspond to on-screen prompts are:

a. Waze rerouting, either due to you passing a turn or street it was directing you toward or Waze losing your correct GPS position (Cell phone GPS's aren't very accurate. If you look at GPS points in the map editor you will see user GPS tracks all over the place) which can result in *multiple* reroutes until it fixes your position again, or -

b. Driving over "road candy", i.e. a points reward for meeting certain criteria. *Note, your vehicle icon will change briefly when you "eat" "road candy". It may also do this when "munching" (driving over unverified roads - shown on map as roads with consecutive blue dots.) Your vehicle icon will appear as a "pac-man-like" icon when "munching".

As far as I'm aware, any other audible cues will appear with a prompt on the display (i.e. hazard ahead, etc.)

Hope that helps.

I think the cork noise is when road candy appears on the map,

then a ring-a-ling sound when you drive over it.

That would be brilliant wouldn't it?

Location-based audible advertizing.

Drive by a bowling alley you hear pins falling,
by a water park - water splashing,
and by a McDonalds, a heart monitor flat-lining

The pop is indeed the road sweet popping up, and if you drove over it you'd have heard the congratulations soundbite.

You only thought it was funny because I used the word "brilliant".

And that's only because I've been watching reruns of Top Gear UK

If you pass up that candy is it gone forever?

I've ignored them in the past when they pop where I'm not driving assuming they will re-pop in my path at some point.
