Is Crosstown highway named? Because if you route ends at an unnamed segment, waze keeps showing the name of the last named segment, no matter how many unnamed segments there are left.

It is, but what I find interesting about this is that it didn't keep 'Crosstown Highway' there, but the name of the navigation street instruction when I first turned onto it miles before that. Knowing what you've said here, though, it may just be 'how it works'!

is there a reason why when i have my phone plugged into the car charger and running my waze the battery keeps discharging?
the phone stays on but the battery dies...i have the samsung s3 but this was also happening to my Evo 4G as well...and it is a new car charger.

Some chargers do not provide sufficient current to keep device going and battery charged. Look in device settings, battery. Proper charger will show up as AC charger, not USB charger.

thanks i will take a peek at that when i get ready to drive home tonight from work.

ok i checked yesterday and this morning it says charging (AC) started out at 93% and by the time i was at work it was at 77% i have to check with a few friends that have the Samsung S3 to see if it is the phone or just my bad luck. But since it was happening to my EVO 4G on an old car charger and this is a new charger i use now i just dont know...
also the other issue is that the voice prompts do not work.

i forgot to add that the device shows it is charging while waze is running.

ok i have a question that goes with my waze battery draining issue question...does anyone know of a good app that will monitor battery usuage or log it for that matter i would love to see if it will help me resolve the drain or at least help me figure out if it is waze killing it or not

There is no need for fancy widgets to see if the battery is charging. Plug it into the car charger, select 'Settings / Power ' and look at the 'Battery Status' line. If it says 'Charging (USB)', you can throw away the car charger. If it says 'Charging (AC)', it's a keeper.
USB normally charges at about 100mA-300mA, which is far less than you use with the display, 3G and the GPS on.
If you look at 'Battery Use' on the same screen, a screen will open where you can see what has been using what % of battery. It also has a 'clickable' graph that shows charge / discharge cycles.

Waze is not killing the battery, it's the display that remains on. Add the GPS and 3G into the equation, and that's where 99% battery goes.
Waze shows 3% battery usage on my HTC Sensation if used ~ 2 hours per day for my commutes. Google Maps and it's background services, even though I have never used it for navigation, uses 4%.
Screen uses 60% and Wi-Fi that is on all the time uses 12%.

The best is to get a proper 'fast' charger for the car that will supply enough oomph to keep the phone afloat for your longer journeys.

yeah it shows charging (AC) i will turn down my settings and test it again...i am leaning now towards the phone itself, i say this becasue when i am in an LTE area i get spotty 3g YET my friend who has the same phone same carrier...gets LTE...i will need to look at that option as well.

in any case what is a good brand for car chargers?

any idea about why my waze has stopped the voice commands, it will sometimes say ok lets get started when an address is entered then it is silent the rest of the time...

since E85 fuel (Flex Fuel only cars/trucks) has came out is there anyway to add that as the prefered gas choice i have a couple of stations near me and when i am paying $2.73 gal for it i would like to find other stations else where in case i am not near the one next to me....and now that the gas for the cheapest octane has went from $3.08 to almost $3.40 overnight...E85 is a good choice.

Last part of drive still isn't showing up under 'my drives'

Estimate last 1-2 minutes lost.

Hitting 'park' or 'end' icon doesn't matter.
