Speed limit drive shown as slow traffic

I often drive down a "Minor Highway" (signed as a state highway) where the speed limit is 35 MPH. However, while there is usually no "traffic" on the road, the road is often shown as an orange "slow traffic zone" at 36MPH and it tries to route me onto another road to save time. Is there a way Waze could integrate a feature to set speed limits for roads to help with time estimations as well as to avoid this problem?

If you post a Permalink someone can look at the road(s) in question.

Waze doesn't know the speed limit of the road, only the average speed of the segment (broken down into 10-15 minute intervals). There could be inaccurate or corrupt data on the segment at the time you are traveling it...

It's actually both Concord Rd (Speed limit 40) and Wilson Pike (Speed Limit 35)
Nothing jumps out as an excessively high average speed... But I don't know if WME has the overall (all-day) average speed or the time of day based (10-15 minute increments) average speed... What time of day do you notice these jams?

I just checked several times, the speed data in WME isn't changing - so it must be the overall average...

Although the default speed for a minor highway is likely higher than 35 MPH, after you (and other wazers) drive the road enough, waze will learn that the normal speed really is 35 MPH (presuming that most drivers aren't driving at 50 MPH despite the speed limit) and should then stop showing the road in orange when the traffic is flowing at 35 MPH.

Waze is going to route you the fastest route based on the road speed data that it has. This route doesn't avoid orange roads per se. Rather, the route simply takes into account what the current speed of the road is. Waze frequently routes me on yellow/orange/red marked roads, presumably because the alternatives aren't any faster.

Speed limits are a frequently raised topic. For example see the thread here: http://www.waze.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=15057

I have a road around here that does the same thing. The speed limit is 35 but everyone goes faster. There are many times it or a nearby segment of the same road are orange or yellow because someone like me actually does only 35-37 on it!

Connectivity problems?
There's a minor highway that always turns yellow with speeds of 65~68kmh as soon as I set foot on it. I usually do 100~115kmh on it, but it always turns yellow for a time. I don't usually pay attention for it when I drive but whenever it grabs my attention I see that waze has lost connectivity (or will in a few seconds). Sometimes even my phone drops the data connection in that area.
