Roads are gone when zoomed out

Post by porubcan
is it affecting particular location only?
have you tried to refresh map data (settings-advanced-data transfer-refresh map of my area)?

Similar issue happened to me some time ago, but problem was just with particular map tile at particular zoom level. apparently some tiles failed to load. refreshing map hadn't helped. even I reported it within beta version feedback (not sure if it was related to client or to central infrastructure), no reaction from waze staff. issue had been fixed over a time (like few weeks) without really fixing something.

Segments have always disappeared at different zoom levels in the app. This is controlled by non-user-editable (easily) settings and is something often complained about. I have found in 3D mode, autozoom by distance, all roads appear all the time. But in 2D mode, autozoom by distance, they disappear. This is a feature to Waze and a "bug" or annoyance to users depending on what they expect to see.

At the min zoom levels autozoom uses, you wouldn't be able to distinguish individual streets, for the most part, so Waze just doesn't display them. It's also a performance feature, as more objects to draw means slower screen drawing and less responsiveness in turns.

I see major roads on SS #2. Only Freeway and Highway types will display at that level. The color scheme is also playing into how visible those types are. I personally dislike the color scheme for night, though it is better than before. This is the reason why custom color schemes exist. :)

Oh, Ok. Perhaps so. If that's the case, then it could be problem. If autozoom is turned on, then that shouldn't happen and seems like a bug.

At even the lowest zoom level manually adjusted, freeways should always be visible. I know on the Day Editors Map Scheme, this is the case, as I use it regularly to check on segments across the country to see if they are appearing in the app. I have to rely on the freeway network to know where to pan to.

Alan, seems that those screenshots points elsewhere. while zooming out HW are always shown.
at zoom level = 3 (where 1 is the closest look in client) I can see segments of type "Street" shown
zooming to level = 4 - Primary streets and higher are shown
zooming to level = 6 - only HW and higher are shown... etc.
on screenshot #2 - there are no roads at all, even there were HW displayed on screenshot #1
