Keeps force closing after update

I'm currently on Sprint service using Motorola Photon 4g. I'm on gingerbread 2.3.5 stock rom. Ever since the latest update to 3.5.3.0 waze force closes every time I try to search for an address or add in a favorite address. I tried uninstalling the app, then rebooting my phone and reinstalling but the problem persists. The previous version worked great. Is there a way I can get back to the version before the update?

Thanks!

Menu->Settings->6th item down for me (below Navigation")....

Sounds like you may have gotten a bad download.... or something screwy happened because you upgraded from the beta...
Ah, got that back on 4th or 5th start. It was not there before. Looks that Report > Gas prices and then restart application or other magic helped.
I had the same issue. No Gas Stations & Prices in the Settings menu after upgrade.
After application restart it is there ...

In previous release I lowered prompts volume and heard guidance when playing podcasts but now every beep and word from Waze pauses podcast. It is very annoying. Please restore the previous behavior or add a config option for that under sound settings menu.
I'd like to reiterate what ZCougar said. One of the main reasons I use Waze over Google Navigation is that I could listen to my music (mostly instrumental) and have the turn-by-turn directions talk over the music without any interruption. Now this new updates pauses the music and makes the drives much more annoying for me and my passengers. I know other people have asked for this interrupting behavior in the past but it should really be a setting where users can toggle whether to have voices interrupt other audio apps or have it talk over for users like me.

What would be ideal is if we could also have the turn-by-turn navigation panned to just the left or right speaker so only the driver's side would have the directions and passenger's can listen to music with minimal distraction.

Also, can it be possible to use our handset's own text-to-speech engines? I like using Ivona voice on Android.
I'd just like to throw my support behind this too. Trips with frequent turns make listening to music or podcasts pretty much impossible while using Waze due to the constant interruptions. Please please make this a setting we can toggle so I can go back to how it used to work.

- I translated the 3.5.2 news to Czech on Transifex but see them in English on Google Play store for 3.5.3. Waste of my time. :(

- Installed 3.5.3 over previous beta 3.5.1.909 and when started it froze over a minute during splash screen and when finaly started all my setting including registration are gone!!! :( :( :(

EDIT:
- I had "shortcut" on the main screen, this is also gone.

EDIT2: Also all my history is gone. Thanks a lot, Waze!

There was no change in czech translation of "Map error" in the report menu but since update to 3.5.3 I don't see the complete text "Chyba mapy". No problem in 3.5.1.909 or before.

Very long time this is not good.

Concerning title of the menu, In this particular text, full text is in french "Résultats de la recherche"
Only 3 chars are missing. I think there is the place to put them. You have to "auto-center" the text menu, and not put blank spaces on left of text.

Missing day, hours... etc. I thought that it could be a translation problem but I see that the lang.francais file is correct. Strange. These text are correctly shown in other languages.

Regarding the title - I can imagine that it's not easy to optimize the formating for all languages and screen resolutions. The text is proportional and I am not sure how easy/difficult is to calculate the width in pixels in advance in Android/iOS. It's better and easier to solve such minor problems in translation by an alternate text which fits.

Autourdupc wrote:I use to translate into French for Waze, but I don't know where teh missing texts are in the Transifex files !
They are there. If i search for English word "ago" there I see "depuis %d jours" etc. Maybe also too long? Do a small test and try someting like "dep. %d jours" in your local lang.francais file or what shortcut you find understandable if it helps and then you could implement on Transifex too. The client space on the left from this text is reserved for future display of the station address, so the space for the time cannot be wider and we have to live with the one we have.
