IMHO, something as important as the client GUI should be worth even its own subforum, for proposals, problems, etc. Surely Waze has their own opinion on the client's look and feel.

Right on. I've suggested making it slightly discrete to show more map and the route ahead but nothing has been done till now. Would really appreciate a cleaner nav window.

Still can't use my bluetooth pause button in application when using a media player in the background. Still never seen acknowledgement of the issue.

When I'm navigating somewhere, whenever I reach a point within about a quarter of mile from my destination I get a popup saying that I've lost the GPS signal. Then about a few seconds later it disappears and all is normal with no actual interruption of navigation.

I saw a few other posts on the subject, but they were all posted last year and nothing else current.
This has been reported repeatedly through the beta and last couple app store versions. The lost gps signal error appears when the audio alert for nearing the destination plays. It doesn't happen every time but it does happen often. It is apparently not important for Waze to fix this type error as it is to incorporate new features and advertisements.

The setting is available in the 'preference' file.

Code: Select all

GPS.Show coordinates: yes
Yep
I've toggled this in several of the beta and app store versions and have never seen the coordinates displayed. I keep trying it in the hope that it will actually do something.

D'oh!! I was getting 'GPS.Show GPS' confused with 'GPS.Show coordinates'. That preferences file needs some organizing. :D

Show coordinates works for me, Show GPS doesn't do anything. I can get the coordinates to appear on the top of the screen. It's the small arrow that doesn't show up. It would be very useful to have an indicator of where the actual coordinates are instead of the 'locked on road' position where waze places the car icon.

'Cue the trumpets! You were the top sco...' (I can't see the rest of the message because it cut off in the messages notification list, but, I'm guessing it has something to do with scoring in the previous week)

So when I click on that notification, Waze opens, and I'm taken to my Inbox. I receive the error message 'We're sorry, but something went wrong.'

This said, my inbox is empty anyway. I'm guessing a notification was pushed to my client, but a matching message was never put in my inbox.
Ditto
I had the same thing today. I assumed that they accidentally went public with something that they are testing internally.

I think that the bullseye around your car on the map indicates that there is no gps lock and an approximate location is being used based on cell tower reception triangulation. Next time you see the bullseye check to see if there is a no gps message across the top of the map.

Me too!
I had the problem that the buttons wouldn't show up when I selected a message during beta testing. I found that if I rotated between portrait and landmark a few times the buttons were likely to appear.

This week-end, just after starting Waze, I saw a message on a black bubble "There are 127 wazers near you".

Is this a new functionnality ?
That's the Wazers nearby balloon. It's been part of the US client/server for a while. I think it has just recently been implemented on the World server.

It only shows up for a few seconds when Waze is started if you're in a metropolitan area (or maybe there just needs to be a critical number of Wazers nearby).
