HTC One S and Waze

I am currently using Waze on the HTC One S with Service by T-Mobile and I've notice that occasionally, my GPS position will be off position. Today, Waze reports that I am right outside of Kansas City and yesterday, Waze reported that I was driving near Atlanta, Georgia. :?:
When I start up Google Maps, it identifies my position accurately, which is Honolulu, Hawaii.

Anyone else using an HTC One S having similar issues with Waze? So far, My wife has not experienced this issue using Waze on her Samsung Galaxy 2.

Edit - Fixed typo in the subject line.

Thanks for the reply!

Now I am wondering if Waze uses location info at all. I'm assuming that when GPS signal are weak or lost, Google falls back to using Wi-Fi and Mobile networks to determind my location. I'm guessing Waze does not.

BTW, Waze has me in St. Peter, MO today. Traffic sure seems to flow better there than it does in Honolulu!

I was having a similar problem on my Samsung Galaxy S3 for a while, a week or so ago. It wasn't as far off as you're experiencing, but rather off by about a mile or so. Now it seems to be working better. I wondered if it might have been some sort of map update, where the map's points weren't properly aligned with gps satellite points... or something like that. As you mentioned, in Google's program, the location seemed to be quite accurate.

It could be that Waze is off only because the GPS is off. My understanding is that Waze uses the GPS exclusively for location.

we've had a few reported issues with GPS being out in the UK, wondering if there is a bigger GPS issue going on - It isn't exclusive to waze I recorded a KML track which was also out.

Google maps will use wifi for extra positioning so thats why that may be right.
